helloooo!
i think this week was the most perfect week ever in southern california. the weather was warm, the sea was crystal clear, and everything felt ok. i even started reading a book again! enjoy this weeks newsletter!

kaida and i were supposed to film episode 3 of her surfboard-making series but it turned out that my dad already started glassing the board soooo instead my bro was in the shaping room and i took a few clips of him! keone is a talented shaper and is especially quick when shaping a board, which is a good skill to have when you have orders backed up till christmas. my dad and keone head down to the factory together and spend the day shaping. when my bro is finished shaping a board, he calls my dad in to examine it and usually, my dad shares some feedback and then keone moves on to the next. enjoy viewing in 4K! my super stylin friend syd has always had an eye for beautiful things, she stays dressed to the 10’s and would always have a dinner party planned sometime in the near future. these parties are some of my fondest memories filled with yummy food with flavors i’ve never tasted before, deliciously crafted cocktails (trust me, it was hard to not gulp them down in one sip), and a beautiful well-thought out dinner table design. my favorite part about these parties was that i knew it would be an unforgettable night catching up with my closets, and some new, friends. aaanyways, as i mentioned before, syd has a eye for unique and beautiful things and she decided to put her skills to use and open up a depop shop! with 1,500 followers and climbing, i am not the only one who admires her style. she’s even offering free shipping on bundles right now, which is perfect for buying a few pieces for a new fall wardrobe. check out her shop below!

dayummmm i swear this is the best thing i’ve EVER made! the grahman crack/shredded coconut crust and the fresh mangoey, minty custard was a house favorite. i used this recipe, and was able to utilize the mangoes growing in our front yard. it was actually easy to make too!! omg i wish you could taste this treat with me haha it was delish.

the herb of the week is mint! i’ve been drinking heaps of peppermint tea, diffusing the essential oil, and finding ways to incorporate it into my food. i felt that this excerpt from my new book im reading explains the wonderful properties of peppermint perfectly, “plants in the mint family, in general, have a beneficial effect on digestion, ease headaches and increase one’s energy. It can be used to warm or cool the body, enhance mental clarity, thereby expanding our ability to be in the present momen.” i purchased a huge stash of dried peppermint from right here, and make my infusion in the morning to wake my body up, or at night, to relieve headaches and relax into dream world. its one of my fave herbs for any time of day <3 love ya mint.

i think that having a dream for your life is important to help you set goals in the present moment. also not having a dream is OK too! whatever floats your boat. i’m just going to ask you one question to respond to in your journal. close your eyes and imagine your dream life, image that life in as many details you can think of.
now, make that dream even bigger (there’s no limits to anything in your dream life) and write down a few steps you can take today to get you there!
