hello readers! i hope you all are enjoying the year so far. I wanted to start these back up again, so enjoy reading!
i actually filmed this a few months ago and since then, haven’t taken my camera out much because i got a season full time jobbieeee. now that it is over, i have the creative energy to pick up my camera again! anyways, my sister is always inspiring me and she shaped and painted this surfboard for her partner. the board is so rad and infused with her magic. one of my favorite surfboards is shaped by my sis- its a midlength and sooo so fun. i hope to work with my sister again and design a few boards in the future for Capo Beach Surfboards, a company i want to create with my sister and brother.
my dear friend beau has been an inspiration to me since the moment i met them. their enchanting spirit is sure to capture the heart and attention of everyone they meet because they are such a kind, caring, funny little fairyyyy with a dope taste in music.
they recently started up an insta page for their art and i wanted to share it with you today. i also asked them about the inspo behind the images! keep scrollin to read thru their answer.
“I wanted to create a media form that was shareable and reachable, merging my need for spirituality with my aesthetic taste, and present it on something as vapid and momentary as Instagram. sometimes I feel as though scrolling through my feed on Instagram feels lifeless and I wanted to provide something for myself and my community that felt honest and useful and also something that expresses a piece of my authentic vision and personality. I don’t expect to receive much from it aside from the warm feelings I get knowing they might do something positive for people I care for, and possibly people I do not know. “
thanx for letting me share beau <3
soooo i recently started making focaccia using Claire Saffitz recipe and its so delicious- the perfect balance of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! my first batch i made using my rosemary-infused oil(just stuck rosemary from my garden in olive oil and let it sit for 6 weeks) and damn best bread of my life. she calls for using bread flour instead of all-purpose flour and it really makes a difference. it wasn’t as heavy as the other times i made focaccia using ap. since the first time i’ve made a few batches with different toppings its so fun!!
one of my fave things recently is sending postcards to friends. its a fun way to stay in touch and hear about lil happenings in their life. also receiving a postcard back is so exciting!! you should send me a post card to 26921 Calle Maria, Capistrano Beach CA 92624 and I will send you one back!
